Privacy Policy

Ben E. Keith EFCU is run by a board of directors elected by the membership.  Members can be confident that their financial privacy is a top priority of this credit union.  This policy explains how we collect, use and safeguard members’ personal financial information.&

Ben E. Keith EFCU is committed to providing members with competitive products and services to meet their financial needs, which necessitates that we share information about them to complete their transactions and to provide them with certain financial opportunities.  In order to do so, we have entered into agreements with other companies that provide either service to us or additional financial products for members to consider.  If members prefer that we not disclose information about them to certain businesses, they may “opt out” of these disclosures, that is, they may direct us not to disclose information about them.  This “opt out “ will not apply to information that we may disclose about members as permitted or required by law.  These disclosures typically include information to process transactions on their behalf, conduct the operations of our credit union, follow their instructions as authorized, or protect the security of our financial records.  Ben E. Keith Employees FCU does not sell member information, so at this time, the opt out option is not necessary.

Ben E. Keith EFCU may also disclose all the information we collect, as described below to companies that perform marketing or other services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements.

To protect our members’ privacy, we only work with companies that agree to maintain strong confidentiality protections and limit the use of information we provide.  We do not permit these companies to sell to other third parties the information we provide to them.

Member Information We Collect

We collect nonpublic personal member information from the following sources:

  • Information we receive from members on membership and loan applications an other forms;
  • Information about members transactions with us or others;
  • Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency; and
  • Information obtained when verifying the information members provide on an application or other forms, such as current or past employers or from other institutions where financial transactions were conducted.

Member Information We May Disclose

We may disclose the following kinds of nonpublic personal financial member information:

  • Information we receive from members on applications and other forms, such as name, address, social security number, and income.
  • Information about member transactions with us or other companies that work closely with us to provide financial products and services, such as account balances, payment history, and credit card usage.
  • Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency, such as members creditworthiness and credit history

How We Protect Member Information

  • Ben E. Keith EFCU restricts access to nonpublic personal member information to those employees who have a specific business purpose in utilizing member data. Our employees are trained in the importance of maintaining confidentiality and member privacy. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations and leading industry practices to safeguard member nonpublic personal information.
